I will admit I was a huge Mike Tyson fan. I always rooted for him in the ring and rooted for him to get it together outside of it. Love him or hate him, these are very raw emotions from a very tough guy, something you don't see everyday.
I always felt he got railroaded on the rape conviction, but he probably had it coming to him for all of the stuff he got away with. His ear biting incident against Evander Holyfield was inexcusable. Drug abuse came as no surprise. Bad marriages, bad finances and bad decisions marred the career and life of one of boxing's great heavyweight. Yet I still rooted for him to get it together and atone for his mistakes.
He recently lost his 4-year old daughter in a freak household accident and still is dealing with his problems and demons. Still, I root for him. I hope he can still find his way to a happier life and be a better person everyday.
"Tyson" a feature documentary detailing the life of one of boxing's most controversial fighters, will be released soon.

I think that he has a good heart but it doesn't always mesh with his thinking. I grew up in a pretty shady neighborhood and a few years after I moved away, a child was killed on a street corner, the victim of a drug-related shootout. Tyson paid for the entire funeral, no questions asked, as the parents couldn't afford it.
I'm with you when your in the spot light you tend to get hit by the south bound train quit a bit. I really hope he finds a better life hes had a really bad 7 years.
